So I have this non-running '66 that has a Hurst Shifter, and I know nothing about it. I'm wanting to know if I should keep it in the bug (is it worth keeping?), and how it's supposed to work. What does the trigger looking mechanism do? I'm thinking about getting rid of it in favor of a standard shifter with an ivory knob because I like the look. I've seen a couple of other '66s with this same type on it.
Thanks in advance!

Vintage, and valuable. depending on how old it is it could be a hundred, maybe 150 bucks. If you're going to sell it, look up comparable ones on the samba and see where you fit in with yours. odds are good if you price it right it'll go quickly. I'd offer to buy it but I'm broke.
The trigger's your reverse lockout.
