Will the motor and trans fit a 66?

Hi experts ..... can you tell me if a motor/trans from a 73 super beetle fit the 66 sedan?

I see references for the 66 as either 6 or 12 volts is that the case? I have not picked up the 66 yet and not sure what I will have.

The body is good but the car was submerged in a hurricane in 09. I am reluctant to buy for 250.00 and start rebuild with another motor and trans.
