Carburetor Rebuild

Post by hercdriver »

Just had my Solex 30 PICT-1 rebuilt by Tim at Volkbitz. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. He completely cleaned it, re-plated the metal bits, and re-bushed it. I also had him replace the barb for the fuel line.

From start to finish, it was about two weeks door to door.

Here's his website....

Now for the big question: What does it cost, and is he interested in cores for trade?

$149 using my core plus $20 to replate. I am very happy with it. You can buy a Chinese knock off for about the same price, but why would you?

From his website.

"I can send you a re-built carb and give a $20 core credit when you send me your old one, plus an additional $10 for each extra carb. Core carbs must be complete and same model, unless prior arrangements have been made."

Neato. Except I think $10 per carb core is a little light.
