dash molding !!!!

I'm at the end of a year long restoration. I never thought the "dash molding" would be a problem. I bought the "kit" from WW almost a year ago. I didn't read the fine print! The "clips" do not fit the original holes. I've broken most of them, even after "enlarging the holes", trying to make them fit. So far, no luck. I ordered original clips and boots, hoping to solve the problem, only to find that they will not fit the WW trim. Tried ordering original trim... "not in stock!" AARRRGH....
Any one else been down this road? Sure would appreciate a direction to go!

Never ran into this problem, or even knew about reproduction dash trim. This would be swap meet stuff I'd look for used.

Here in Florida the VW swap meets are still very large, and incidental VW parts can still be found cheap.
