Yellow Headlight Lenses on VW Beetles

When I lived in Germany in the 1950's as a small lad, I remember many VW Beetles back then that ran yellow headlight lenses. I think the yellow lenses look cool. Thinking about adding a pair to my 66 Beetle. I found a Bosch pair in Germany. Anyone else using yellow headlight lenses on their Beetle?

Actually it's France that required yellow headlight lenses. The yellow lenses you saw in Germany might have been French tourists or really weak 6-volt systems!
