1966 Volkswagen wasting away!

Hi everyone! A friend of mine has a VW that's sliding of into the bayou. Not sure what year it is, but it looks like a '66. Worth saving? Several other '50s cars are almost completed buried and washing away.

Yes, I am that disparate for cheap parts.

Gives me the idea that future alien archaelogists may discover the beetle and wonder.

I guess, with over 20 million models produced, they are bound to find one no matter what happens here on earth.
