Access covers

What's the "official" name for those access covers in the front spare tire area? Mine are rusted beyond recovery, but I can't seem to locate replacements for my 66 Beetle. Am I going to have to cut some out of scrap sheet metal, or are they available as reproduction items??

Inspection covers and there are some on EBay for cheap!

Well ...sorry to disagree...but NOBODY is listing these particular covers as "inspection covers" (lots of tunnel inspection covers, but none of the roundy ones) ....and the only "roundy" covers listed on ebay are for a 69 or newer. Any other advice???

Yes ....now we're talkin' !!! My search for inspection covers, and access covers never turned up with any results ....but this is certainly progress.

Too bad people wouldn't post more details in their ads. I will check with these posters and see if I can get more details. THANKS!!!
