Door interchangeability questions

I have the opportunity to buy a couple of complete doors, with glass, for my 66 ...however the doors are from 71 and 73 model year bugs. Will the newer doors fit on the older bug? I was hoping I could perhaps just change the opener handles and convert the newer doors to work on the 66 ...but don't even know if they would actually fit. Anyone done this before??

No. The striker mechanism was redesigned in '67 to make it more difficult for the doors to pop open in an accident.
