Seat belt parts

Post by rknowles »

Just bought a '66 Beetle and after I got him home I started finding that the PO had 'lost' a few parts here & there, namely the throttle return spring bracket, the mixture screw and parts of the seat belts. I found a carb screw and made a bracket, but I need the belt parts. It's the part that attaches to the tunnel between the seats - all of it, from the bolt to the reciever clip. Anyone know where I can buy just that bit, not a whole new set?

Assuming that you have an original 1300 engine, the carb would not have a throttle return spring bracket if the car was built before December 29th, 1965 (chassis # 116 460 614, engine # F0 429 814). Instead of having a return spring, it would have a pressure spring that would work against the fan housing, putting pressure directly on the accelerator cable. If built in 1966, it should have the bracket.
Sorry, don't have seat belt parts for you. The "Bug Out" in Manassas Virginia can be a good source for parts. The Sunday before Memorial and Labor Day.

Update: The Bug Out is no longer located in Manassas VA. It's now in Petersburg, Virginia at the Virginia Motorsports Park.
