66' Beetle info NEEDED

I was looking at the vin number codes for a 1966 beetle and I'm not sure if this is right. I was looking on the samba and I think it says my Beetle was made in November of 66' but I'm not sure. The VIN number is 116381718. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

November of 1965. That makes it a '66 model for sure. VW model years ran Augst to August. So August 1965 - Aug of '66 would be a '66 model year.

August 1966 would actually begin the 1967 models ( 117xxxxxx)

In my head that said July '66. unfortunately, my head and hands often disagree about what gets typed
