starting problem

Post by Crescent »

I have a 66 1300cc 6 volt.
When I turn the key the two lights on the dash are very dimand the car wont turn over. If I turn on the radio they go out. It ran fine then I shut it off and tried to start it. It turned over twice then nothing. Had to push it to start it to drive it home. Can it be the battery?

Need help Thanks

Odds are on battery at least as a beginning. Generator/alternator may not be charging. Get a meter, get it running, and check the voltage going to the battery. If the charging circuit is OK, then yeah, probably battery. If you're not getting sufficient voltage when the car's running, then it's time to start eliminating components and find your real culprit.
