New Paint Options. NEED HELP

Post by First66' »

I am not sure what color to paint her. I want to paint her blue or orange but i know that there are a million different shades of each color. I need to know what are some good shades. Thanks

do you want a '66 correct color, a VW correct color, or just any ol' color?

I'm particularly fond of L388 Atlas blue, which was a '59 only color.

Here's a link to a car that was being painted that color.

For orange, well, My '66 is PPG Sunburst Orange, which is the color the P.O. painted it. I like to too, for an orange.

Original color?

What is the bug's original color? Do you like it?
I got the paint code number for vw sea blue and gave it to maaco (of all places). They matched it perfectly, so the inside and outside matched.
I do love the sea blue.
But go with your favorite vw color, imho.

I not looking for a original color but if the color is good i wouldn't mind using it. For the blue I'm looking a maybe a lighter, brighter blue maybe but also like the kinda "Deep See Blue" Types of blue. But with the orange I kinda like a lighter more factory standard orange, not some shiny, glossy orange. Thanks

@fatalifeaten - That blue is awesome. I found that same picture and am considering it for my own.

@LindaBlue66 - I have attached a picture of an orange that I am considering. I apologize, I do not know what the color code is yet. If it is the color I decide on I will have to try to match it at the painters.

Go to your painter and ask to look through a chip book.

Did you find it linked from somewhere else? I TOOK that picture :) I'm always amused at how far across the internet my photos go. Even snapshots like this one.
