emergency flasher relay - again

Post by DPIGGUY »

'66 Vert new to me! Converted to 12v by prior owner. Emergency flasher switch on dash works but not the lights. Turn signals, etc all work and bulbs are all good as are fuses. Currently the relay installed looks to be German made with 9 pins (not all used). Part no. is 211953227 A.

I know these are hard to find - is there a way to wire the flashers separately and use a newer relay or am I stuck with trying to find the elusive black box? Any help would be appreciated by this newbie!

found replacement box but not available at this time so went with conversion kit to modern relay. fixing to do the wiring this weekend as it is pretty straight forward. if this works, could do away with black box problems for good!

I have been out of town and not had a chance to see if the conversion kit works. The wiring diagram is fairly simple but I haven't connected anything yet. Will let you know what happens when I do!

Give this a shot some time if you get stuck. This was done to several '66's in my club and works great.

Odd, there used to be a link there to a thread about it. Wonder where it went...

I found it by going to the daily driver site.
