SVDA with 40 IDFs

Post by roastysprouts »

Hello all,

Ive fitted a set of Weber 40 IDF onto my 1641cc type1 twinport and I thought id also change my 009 for a SVDA to get rid of that little flat spot (you know the one).

Is anyone running this set up and does it work? do I need to connect the vac pipe to one or both carbs and whats the best dizzy time setting?

I also seem to be getting an advance of not far off 40 degrees when I rev the engine with no load or vac pipe connected... Surely that can be right ?

Cheers.

How can it be advancing if there's no vacuum pipe fitted? At any rate, 40 degrees BTDC is waaay too much advance. Your total advance should be around 30 with the dual carbs.

What is the advance at idle?
