Piston Markings Help!

Post by kedge »

While disassembling my engine, I was very happy to find that there are still "original" cross hatch marking faintly visible! The odometer indicates 59K miles, but I don't know if it even works....only assuming....
Now...this morning when I was starting to clean one of the pistons, I see on the top, stamped into the metal the numbers "76.95" and directly below those numbers, stamped in smaller is the number "20".

So, does that indicate that these are 20 over pistons? Only other stamping on the top is the letter "G" and an arrow indicating direction of install. can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks so much

76.95 is factory stock for a 1300 (1285cc, '66 stock engine) I'm not sure what the 20 stamping is though.
