Alternate Horn Wiring

Post by rokemester »

Does anyone have a clever alternate horn wiring scheme? I've worked through the horn system, cleaned all the contacts but something is still amiss in the ground circuit that runs through the steering column.

How do you have it connected at the steering hub? Mine was connected to the wrong lug to allow the ground to traverse the connection.

This is the best place I have found to help you understand how it is wired.

I hadn't thought of that. I focused all of my attention on cleaning up the bolt lug it was attached to. I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I've seen the bugshop info. It's very helpful.

If you have struggled with getting your horn to work properly check out this thread on thesamba. As you will see I rewired my horn circuit as described and now my horn works like a champ. The trick is finding a working 6v relay.
