Greetings from Reno, Nevada

Post by Jimbo In Reno »

Good Day Everybody. I'm Jim. I have been out of the scene for 10+ years after my '64 Bug was stolen. So after months of looking and getting used to the sticker shock. I finally found one I wanted to look at. All the way in Oakland, CA. Well needless to say. After a test drive and a bit of haggling. I handed over the cash and was off to home depot to buy a fire extinguisher and get a full tank of gas. Because I was driving her home! Whether it made it 10 miles or the 206 to Reno, I was committed. Well 5 hours and multiple stops checking oil, dipstick temp, and the other 5 million things that could be an issue. We arrived, to the delight of the Wife not needing to come get us of course. So after 4 days of 15 hour shifts. Tomorrow I finally get to see what I got myself into. :D Thanks for having me. And I look forward to learning a lot. And meeting new people.

Jim

It definitely was. Unfortunately it doesn't have a 1300 in it. Which makes me a bit sad. But to find one original is getting tougher by the year.

Thanks. Not sure about the paint. The heater channels under the seat are the same color. And I find no hint of any other color but rust and rattle can black. So maybe.
