Buying new tires
Cooper 185-65-R15 tires onto my OEM 1966 VW beetle rims? I actually came across this set of very decent Honda Civic tires in my shop ....and am considering installing them for moving the car and pan around the shop ...and maybe even for road use. Is there going to be an issue with the width of the rim compared to the width of the tire?? Suspension clearance, etc??
VW tires
Again, I'll ask: How wide is the whitewall originally?
Is there a less expensive option than Coker? It seems to me that a good blackwall tire in a 66 VW size is about $65.00. Why should we have to pay $100 to $150 more per tire for white walls when the manufacutring cost is the same (Unless you are Coker Tire)
I'm running Cokers on several cars , and understand others are not making tires for 1934 Fords and Buicks due too their sizes, but there were 20,000,000 VW's made and millions more cars that came with the same size whitewalls.
Why do have to have to pay the price for some millenials who like the "European look" of look alike new American & imported cars?

An old car nut who got his driver's license in a new 1961 VW and has owned 10 VW's (1957-1972) since then. Favorite was the 67's (2), but the 66 is the longest owned and current VW.
