Heater channels

Has anybody ever patched holes in their heater channels rather than replace them? I have some sizable holes over where the jack stands go.

I know, I know, better to replace them, but for $$$ consideration, I'd rather not do that right now.

There's not much that people haven't done to their bugs.

The outer heater channel skin and lower rear quarter panels have been available as patch panels for years.
