30 pict-3 carb

Post by KKV270 »

Hi.

I have a 30 pict 3 carb I am considering replacing with the 28 pict 2 that I got the car with.

Challlenge is, I had once done so but seemed like the 30 pict 3 had a very high idle rpm and was running rich. added problem, I cant seem to figure out how to adjust (tune) it as it doesnt have the idle jet as obvious as that on the 28 pict.

any advice on this matter??

The idle is adjusted on the 30 PICT 3 by turning the air bypass screw on the left side of the carb. (The big screw is the air bypass, the small one is the mixture.)

I'm not familiar with the nuances between the /2 and /3. Have you seen this page yet? It's for the /2, but you may find it helpful.

Thank you for the info. I will try it out again hoping for a good outcome. I guess working in the dark was the biggest hinderance. Now I have informed moves that I believe will yeild.

Cheers.
