Steering Wheel

There is a large gap between the wheel and the turn indicator. The tube is as far as it will go and the wheel is socked down. Any ideas or suggestions?

You may have to loosen the clamp on the column under the dash just ahead of the steering wheel, and pull the tube toward the wheel to close the gap. It it's stubborn, you'll have to pull the gas tank and tap it toward the rear from the front.

I had already done that. It's as far as it will go.

A number of explanations: The front beam might have been hit and pushed back, the column might not be driven all the way home on the shaft that connects to the steering box donut, the steering box might need to be rotated on the beam, or who knows? This is one of those make-it-work moments.

Turns out that there is a screw that locks the turn signal housing to the tube. Loosen the screw and slide the housing to the proper location.
