I'm stefano from italy with a 66 vert, I hae some questions:
What is a position of voltage regulator in my 66? I have saw many pics in different places.
Then, the color of steering wheel is black for all 66 models? Included the turn indicator switch?

My VR was on top of the generator for the 6 volt. When I went to 12 volt I changed locations to the firewall. But, I am not a purist as I was doing a resto rod. I have seen both black and white steering wheels. I am sure others will respond.

Yes, gray-black from '66 on.

The stock '66 6-volt engine has the regulator on the generator, but has been mentioned, if you convert to 12 volt you'll need to mount it in another place. I've seen them on the fan shroud, firewall, and even relocated under the back seat.
