Seat belt fitment

My 66 bug project came without front seat belts. Back in the day (1969) when I first owned a 66, it had lap belts that clipped on to a chrome ring/hook between the front seats. Can't recall if the belts had retractors at the door side. That being said, will retractor style lap belts from a 67 fit in my 66?? I've seen some advertised that say "67 only" ...??

The '67 belts will not fit your '66.
