I've been responding to online ads from people selling "old VW hub caps" ...most people don't know what they have, so they can't put up a proper description, etc. So ...can anyone give me the EXACT inside dimension of a proper 66-67 hub cap (the diameter of the inside ring that snaps onto the wheel ...even the circumfrance at the point as well)? Then I can get people to measure and see if what they have to offer is what I need. Unfortunately, I don't have even one original cap to measure from. Thanks.
My '66 hubcap is just under 9-1/2" (about 9-7/16") inside diameter. I have a hubcap sitting around that I think fits '68 and newer. It's inside diameter is just over 9-1/2" at about 9-9/16". A difference is that the 1966-1967 should have a recessed ring around the perimeter and is a bit deeper than the newer ones.
