Automatic Choke

Hi.

My carb has a 6v auto choke that is not in use.
1. What are the benefits of the choke I'm loosing out on?
2. Anybody with some way of modifying such a 6v choke to work with a 12v system?

The choke will help the engine start when it's cold.

Install a 12-volt choke element.
