Hi,
After pulling of the brake outer drums and inspecting/repacking the bearings i am wondering if a later model (pre superbug) front end would fit on my 66 australian . Disc brakes would be great , not to mention decent bearings. Also i guess i would need a brake booster as well. I have little coil overs and want to drop the bug 2.5 inches as well.
I am interested in drivability rather than classic resto.
new front suspension and steering and disc brakes

Once again, Australian is a model that's unique. The balljoint front end was introduced in 1966 in Germany, but may not have appeared in Oz until '68.
The kingpin and balljoint front ends are not interchangeable because the tubes are wider apart on the balljoint and the framehead on the chassis is different.
