Just wondering - the 74 chassis has macpherson front shockers mounted to the body - do i have to remount them or what? could i use the 66 shock towers on the 74 chassis?

Hi, After pulling of the brake outer drums and inspecting/repacking the bearings i am wondering if a later model (pre superbug) front end would fit on my 66 australian . Disc brakes would be great , not to mention decent bearings.Also i guess i would need a brake booster as well. I have little coil ...

Can someone tell me if later model doors will fit a 66 vw 1200 (Australian)?
I need to replace both (rust) and the range of good second hand ones becomes greater. Also the front hood.

I've just bought a very neglected 66 1200 as a slow build project.My first job is to separate the body from the chassis and weld the rust spots out and put new floorpans in.
