engine block#
I found the VW stamp below the jugs 113.101.101 40 H and 113.101.102 40 H so I am guessing the engine is a bast*rd block from 1965 vw plant.

thanks for the reply! sounds like I should do a tear down and rebuild while I'm at it. I may have done damage when I started it for 30 seconds after I replaced the pushrod. bummer

I discovered when I pulled my pushrods the #4 exhaust pushrod was missing the tip on the inner side. so I replaced it with another and I was wondering what kind of damage this may have caused..

I now have this Bug BB66bug used to own, the block number does not have a letter. all it has is 8960822.

Hello,Just recieved my '66 Beetle in a trade deal. I've own her for 4 days and plan to keep it for a long,long time! looking forward to spending the summer fixing her up!
