Sapphire I in a 66?
I have a Sapphire I radio in my September 65 built 66. The Sapphire III is "correct" for the 66 model year but I'm wondering if perhaps the dealers were still having surplus Sapphire I's installed in late 65. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has this setup in their 66, espec...

Here's an update showing some of the improvements I've made. I've tried to bring things back to stock instead of the Cal-Look the car had when I purchased it last September. I've put all the chrome trim back on, replaced the repro bumpers and hubcaps with German ones, replaced the aluminum running b...

if contact cleaner sprayed on it won't cure it, time for a replacement. I did go ahead and get a new switch. When I looked at the old one there was a little copper piece that looked like it was maybe supposed to inhibit the switch from rotating 360 degrees but had come loose and settled in behind t...

How to operate an AB1504 tire jack?
I hope this question is so basic that when answered it will be so simple I'll feel like a total moron for even asking, but how do you lower this type of tire jack? Attached is a pic of the jack in question.

Headlight Pull Switch?
I've searched the forums but don't see this one anywhere. Suddenly my Light Pull-Switch will not push in past the first stop. Anyone else experience this and what might be the fix? Thanks!

Most of the ones I've seen are either Aluminum or Stainless, not chrome. I guess it depends on whether you're looking for a 100% correct finish or whether you're looking for a specific look. If memory serves, stainless would be original. The original VW moldings are anodized aluminum and don't poli...

Body Molding Trim Kits?
Hope this is the correct forum and that this isn't too stupid of a question, but I see a couple of places online selling Body Molding Trim Kits and they offer both a chrome and a stainless steel set. What are the advantages and disadvantages of either? Is there a consensus on which type is preferabl...

Yet another newbie... sort of
Just bought a 66 for my wife to use as a daily driver. She drove a VW when we first started dating and has always wanted to get another. It's good to go now, but of course there are lots of things I want to fix up the first of which will be to add the missing chrome trim. Since I'm about as mechanic...
