'66 year only bumper mount bracket??

Can anyone tell me if the 1966 bug has a bumper mount bracket made soley for '66 bugs? I've seen some advertised by vendors "thru 1965", and even on places like eBay "thru 1965". I thought that since the brackets & bumpers were of the smaller pre-1968+ variety, my '66 could use them if they fit 1965 and earlier? Am I wrong?

(These are brackets that weld to the body, that the bumper brackets bolt to)

That piece is the same on the 66. It will work through 67. I took the same piece off of a 60 parts car and used it on a 66. That part is interchangeable on the 53-67. The front bumper brackets are interchangeable from the 53-67 as well, as a side note. On the rear bumper it didnt use the overrider to body support until 55, another side note. Also the bumper itself is the same from 49-67. Hope that helps....

Cool, thanks. I figured as much, but then I was confused when I saw on more than one occasion that they specified "thru 65". Thanks again.
