Turn Signals

Post by mistered1966 »

OK, I have checked/replaced all bulbs and fuses as well as the flasher relay and everything else works, but not the signals. When I engage the turn switch I get a brief buzz from the relay, the signal backlight switch works but does not alternate. Ideas?

Later:I've been matching up the wiring diagram with the way the last owner set up his spaghetti. Yikes! He installed a radio and is powering it and the speakers from fuse #1. My diagram also shows that there should be a 2.5 wire running into the signal relay. I cannot find such a wire. I also noticed that there are NO wires coming from the emergency flasher switch!

The fuses are not as shown in the diagram, either. He put an 8 amp fuse at #1 and a 16 amp at #7, which looks properly wired to me. I'm just trying to feel this thing out. Is there a way to properly power the signal relay by adding a 2.5 somewhere else? Should I replace the 8 amp at #1 with a 16?

Success!

Finally got all the lights working! All it took was getting the proper relay from Bustoration.com and following the diagram. Then I found I needed to rewire the right signal due to some REALLY shoddy wiring, then cleaning all the contacts. Hazard lights, signals, all lights working in harmony...Piece of cake.
