In a '66 VW, is there only a door pull on the inside of the passenger door and none on the driver's door. A catalog I was looking at seemed to indicate that. There is no door pull on the driver's door at present, but, I didn't know if that was original or not. I am planning on replacing the seatcovers and door panels this winter. Thanks.

You'd have to get in the minds of the Krauts, but probably so you will keep both hands on the wheel. (Later Beetles had them on both sides.)
You could, however, order the driver's side armrest from your dealership and have it installed. My Seasand '66 has a driver's side armrest, and I have the original dealership invoice for the installation. Parts consisted of armrest, door panel inside bracket, door bracket (to hold the door panel bracket in place) and chrome strips. With all parts and labor the armrest came to something like $16.
Right and left armrests were different in '66, so were you to try and find the correct one for your car, you'd need to find a passenger armrest from a right-hand-drive Beetle.
