The 1966 VW Beetle Forum

Heard a clunking sound and then about a mile or so heard it again...lucky I was just about home...when I stopped the left rear wheel had a funky smell...any ideas? seems like it might be brake related? bearings? costly?... I'm not that bright beyond changing oil... I don't know if you've sorted it ...

As you can see with the interior, it still has the original hessian carpet and rubber flooring. All in all, this car is very much unmodified from its original specifications.

Thought I'd pop in and say G'day to everyone. The name is Norman, and am the proud owner of an Australian built 1965 Standard Beetle. It is a stock 1200, still 6V and is my daily driver.
