Good info Thanks ... The bottom's 12 inches (a foot) off the ground, or is that a typo? My owners manual says at stock ride height, I have 6" of ground clearance, and the overall height of the car is 4 foot 11 inches. That's what Everett's says too... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals...

Thanks for the great writeup, we are working on my brothers car and this helped. You can't clean the valves. They're inside the combustion chamber. But adjustment is vital, and easy to do.
