So I am trying to find out some info. I am looking at a 66 VIN # 116039XXX Samba states august starts with 116102 so that makes me a little curious and is my first question. Did they start here or is this a very early aug 65 car? Second question. They have 1200 cc engine codes listed for 66 as well....

my door handles have the square buttons instead of the round buttons. I have a euro sunroof 66 shell and it also the square buttons but Im not sure if thats a real indicator.

Ok i added more pics. But im beginning to think it is the wrong deck lid. This car is just odd lol the motor is an early 67 the car is a early 66. So I guess the motor blew the first year they had it but who knows since the car wasnt shipped to a dealership.

Ill take more pics after work. I didnt think the ignition was an aftermarket thing only cuz there is no extra holes in the dash and I cant see where another ingnition would have been.

Yes but they are square like the 65's had. And the ignition is in the steering column not on the dash
