1966 extras/options codes

We just received our beetle birth certificate and are wondering if anyone happens to know how to find out what the option codes actually are?

Ours are listed on certificate as:

M 002/358 US-equipment
M 044 cannot be identified

Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.
